What started out as a seemingly pleasant update on your life turned into one of the most emotionally moving podcasts I have heard. Thanks for sharing your spiritual journey with us. I have learned a lot about Christian apologetics over the years, as well as the ways in which God draws us to himself through our experiences and emotions. Your experience shows that it is not an either/or proposition. I would not begrudge anyone from voicing their intellectual doubts or their emotional scars which are keeping them apart from God. God has never wanted blind obedience, but rather acts of submission born of our faith and love.
I’m happy to hear that you have found Christians who are a positive influence in your life. So often we hear about Christians who are hypocrites, or so unpleasant that no one would want to be associated with them. Of course those people are out there, but we all have family members who embarrass us a little, right? ;-) I pray that you will continue to build positive relationships in the Christian community.
